We collect information you provide directly, such as name, email, organization, billing details (processed by our payment provider), and URLs or domains you submit for scanning. We automatically collect technical and usage data, including device and browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, log data, cookies and similar identifiers, and product telemetry (e.g., feature usage, performance, and error data). If you use free scans without an account, we still process the data you submit and technical data needed to deliver the scan.

We use personal data to provide, secure, and improve the Service; authenticate users; process payments and subscriptions; communicate about your account, updates, and support; run scans and generate reports you request; detect abuse and protect our systems; comply with law; and analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to understand product performance. We do not sell your personal information as that term is defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf under contractual obligations, including hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Vercel), database and authentication (e.g., Supabase), payments (e.g., Stripe), email delivery (e.g., Resend), product analytics (e.g., PostHog), and error monitoring (e.g., Sentry). We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. International transfers, if any, are made using lawful mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses where required.

We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, preferences, security, and analytics. Our analytics tools may use cookies or local storage to distinguish sessions and measure product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking certain cookies may affect functionality. Where required, we will present consent options for non-essential cookies in line with regional requirements.

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Scan results and workspace content are retained according to your plan and workspace settings. Backup and log retention periods are limited to operational needs. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it subject to legal holds.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and opt out of sale/sharing for targeted advertising where applicable. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA as described in applicable notices. EEA, UK, and Swiss users may have GDPR rights including lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact privacy@playhero.ai. We will verify requests as permitted by law.

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and safeguarding credentials. If we become aware of a breach affecting personal data where notification is required, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by law.

PlayHero° is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us at privacy@playhero.ai and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as required by law (for example, by email or in-product notification).
